Biography

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. I have always been a helper and a healer that listens more than I talk. The choice to be a therapist was an easy one for me, and I can’t picture myself doing anything else. During my internship at UT Arlington’s Center for Addiction and Recovery Studies, I provided individual and group therapy services to victims of violent crimes and their surviving family members. Throughout my education and internships, I have attended many trainings on and learned a lot about therapy modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My Social Work background comes with extensive knowledge of many different fields of Social Work practice. I am currently working toward obtaining my LCSW so that I can one day open my own private therapy practice.

  • I won an award for fastest typist in middle school (I was faster than the teacher…).
  • I was a dancer growing up – I did ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical dance.
  • I love learning new things, especially within the Mental Health field!
