Biography:
The complex and intricate social dynamics surrounding meals is what ignited my passion for food and nutrition. I spent over 17 years in the restaurant industry; serving meals with long standing traditions, business meetings, casual gatherings, punctuated personal and academic achievements, mourning the loss of loved ones and celebrating holiday and cultural traditions.
This front row seat instilled in me how food can ignite connections, while simultaneously creating a painful disconnect. The ease of eating is often dependent on which foods, opinions of how much, current diet trends driving discussions and the vast differences of feelings on shape, weight and nutritional goals of each person.
My life’s purpose, my mission, is to support individuals to connect with the ease and joy of food—so they can connect to their core values and what matters most to them in life.
I use evidence-based nutritional science from a perspective of joy, healing, ease and sustainability. I incorporate the tools of nutrition education, Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating and basic culinary techniques to dismantle the stress and fear surrounding food.
I currently work with adolescents and families in our MindFULL eating disorder program, including adults and adolescents in private practice. My follow-on career goals include becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Dietitian.
I am so thankful to be part of the family that is Connections Wellness and I look forward to serving you and your family!
- Anyone who talks to me for at least five minutes will know I have a miniature dachshund, named Winston, who I am obsessed with. However, I also have a beautiful leopard gecko named Cordelia!
- I take pride in my finely honed “dad jokes.”
- I have only broken a bone once, and it was by getting bucked off of a horse when I was 12.
