Biography:
I have worked in the mental health field as a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 25 years. My mother was a psychologist and led me to join in her passion for helping others. During my career, I have worked in multiple areas in the mental health field including: Inpatient Hospitals, RTCs, PHPs IOPs and outpatient settings. I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. These clients are often intelligent, creative and sometimes feel over-sensitive to the world around them (i.e. “noises are too noisy, crowds are too crowdy, and dealing with people takes too much effort”). People who have always been there for others but are now struggling with “burnout”. It is very gratifying for me to help clients: identify the causes of their emotional distress; find healthy coping skills for better emotional regulation; identify their emotional needs; and learn better self-care. I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and EMDR.
