Biography

I chose this field because I can relate to the people we treat and their families. I have been living with mental illness for most of my life and I remember being told to hide it and we didn’t talk about those types of things. As an adult I have learned that it is okay to talk about it, it is okay to reach out for help and support, and most importantly, it is okay not to be okay all the time. I have worked in administrative healthcare for 14 years, and this has been by far the most rewarding specialty I have worked with.

• I earned my first college degree at 36 years old (never too late!)
• I have never been on an airplane or left the country.
• If I could go anywhere in the world, I would take my son to Ireland.
