Biography
Debra Ellis is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Licensed Social Worker (LBSW). Her expertise are individuals, families, couples, trauma, dual diagnosis, substance use, infertility, anxiety, depression, and grief and loss. Debra has worked as a clinician for over twenty years with clients in hospital-based settings, the criminal justice system, schools, long-term nursing facilities, hospice, physical medicine rehabilitation as well as substance abuse rehabilitation. Debra offers teletherapy, writes, researches, educates, and presents support groups on topics related to counseling, substance use, mental health, and trauma. Debra earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and a master’s degree in Counseling. She is currently completing a PsyD in Doctor of Psychology in the School of Behavioral Sciences. Debra is a member of the American Psychological Association, Multicultural Behavioral Health Provider Network, and the National Association of Social Workers.
- I love hot teas, old movies, old cars, reading, bird watching (owls are my favorite) and gardening.
- My favorite way to relieve stress is to listen to music, mediation/praying, playing piano, escaping with a good book and taking a walk.
