Biography

I have always wanted to reduce the stigma and taboo surrounding counseling, especially in communities of color. I can remember numerous times growing up where I was the one who would get enlisted to listen to my friend’s problems and felt honored to do so. Throughout my career, I have felt connected with helping youth and other persons who had been dismissed or thrown away by society and have the opportunity to work in various settings supporting them in their journey towards wholeness. I have advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Moral Reconation Therapy and like to employ a collaborative approach in order to empower clients along their therapeutic journey.
