Biography

Growing up I tended to be the person so many went to in need of someone to listen to them. After witnessing so many accounts of people I love struggle with mental health, along with my own journey in bettering my mental health, I knew I wanted to help others navigate their journeys. I want to help people feel heard and seen for who they are and to know what they are going through is surmountable. In time and with disciplined effort changes can and will happen. Halfway through my undergrad at UNT, I had a sudden realization the path and major I was focused on was not the right fit for me. I switched over to Psychology at the start of my junior year and started my own mental health journey with my therapist. Both of these decisions heavily impacted my route towards becoming(eventually!) an LPC myself. Since starting the program at TWU each class has taught me how much I belong here in doing this work with others. I love getting to know people on a deeper level to aid them in figuring out how their mind works in relation to each interconnected aspect of their life. Life can be a convoluted, intimidating beast that we just need to learn the skills of how to tame, so we can take control of what we can and make life work with us.

  • My wife and I share three lovely fur babies (cats with the quirkiest personalities)
  • I adore anything fantasy (books, video games, etc.)
  • Being creative is a large part of who I am, which comes through in my personal writings and drawings
