Biography

After 30 years in public education serving as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and keynote speaker, I retired in December 2022 to pursue a career in counseling. In my youth, teachers shaped my path, and I became a teacher. As retirement was looming, I thought to myself, “What would I do if I could go back in time and back to school and do it all over again?” On the heels of that thought, I pondered, “Why go back in time? Go back to school now.” Throughout adulthood, counselors changed my life, and today, I am in school to become a counselor, just like those who inspired me.

• My immediate family is either a teacher or a therapist (Counselors=Me, my son, and his wife; Teachers=My wife and my daughter)
• Finding ways to bring creativity to matters not typically thought to be creative is a fun challenge for me.
